We’re here to offer a simple service, so give us just a few minutes and we’ll tell you what we’re all about. We aim to improve the financial literacy of high school students before they head off to college or on to a gap year experience.
The Course
Do you know the power of compound interest? or, the high cost of paying only the minimum due on a credit card? or, the cost of getting a daily latte?
Our course, Lessons in Practical Money Management, is a hands-on course aimed to give students the knowledge and skills to answer questions like these and others. It helps address topics pertaining to:
- choosing and managing bank accounts and credit cards
- balancing their checkbook
- tracking their spending and prepare a budget
- evaluating different financial options for meeting a goal
- understanding the impact of building a good credit history
We also look at the related topics of:
- how to protect personal and financial information
- what documents to keep and what can be thrown away
- how to choose a job at school or over the summer
This is not a course in finance theory. We are teaching students practical skills to make informed, financial decisions.
