Sense & Centsability is an Australian development and production company, which seeks brave and entertaining female-driven and gender diverse stories. We work closely with new and established writers and directors, predominantly female, to produce compelling and commercially successful content that appeals to audiences worldwide.
The company is producer Leanne Tonkes' vehicle for telling the stories she is most passionate about.

Leanne Tonkes is a producer of feature films, web series, television commercials, live performances and events, music videos and short films. She has become an advocate for Gender Equality in the entertainment industry and champions the careers of female writers, directors and storytellers across all media.
Leanne’s credits include feature film My Mistress, AFI award winning short DOG WITH ELECTRIC COLLAR and web series THIS IS DESMONDO RAY! – an award winning 6 part web series about a peculiar man searching for love in a dark and troubling world which was Winner of the Web Series World Cup for 2018. Created by Tropfest and AFI award winning filmmaker Steve Baker, who recently won the 2018 Australian Directors Guild Award for Best Animation for the series. Recently described as "the web series of a generation", Desmondo Ray has already won over 45 international awards to date, which included the International Academy of Web Television Awards in Los Angeles, Cinema Jove, Fabrique Du Cinema, Toronto Webfest and has been featured on the highly prestigious Short Of The Week website, a rare honour for a web series. Leanne also produced Steve Baker’s recent Tropfest finalist I’M STILL HERE.
Leanne most recently produced THE SECOND, Mairi Cameron’s debut feature film, and streaming service STAN’s first Original feature film funded by Screen Queensland and released theatrically and on STAN in 2018.
Leanne is producing THE CIRCUS, Emma Freeman’s debut feature film written by Alice Bell supported by Screen Australia and Film Victoria, and an adaptation of Erin McKean’s best-selling novel, THE SECRET LIVES OF DRESSES for Mairi Cameron, written by Stephen Lance. She is adapting other books including - TIGRESS based on Niromi de Soyza’s memoir with writer Jane Hampson and script editor Meg LeFauve (Indian director Leena Yadav is attached to direct) and THE WEDDING SEASON with writer/actor Menik Gooneratne.
She was a recent participant of INSIDE PICTURES, a high profile international intensive film business and leadership skills development programme for film & TV industry executives supported by Creative Europe and ScreenSkills.
Leanne is a recent Screen Australia Enterprise People recipient and a founding board member of the Melbourne Women in Film Festival.
