Leanne Tonkes - HEAD OF PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT
Producer Leanne Tonkes began as a Sound Engineer and then producer of award winning television commercials, music videos and short films.
In 2003, Leanne produced Mittens, a Fox Searchlight short which made final pre-selection at the 2004 Academy Awards. In 2008 she co produced Tropfest Finalist White Lines, and AFI winning animation Dog With Electric Collar. She is the producer of The Circus written by Alice Bell to be directed by Emma Freeman, and is developing an adaptation of the best selling novel The Secret Lives of Dresses with Emma Vuletic & Stephen Lance. She is developing Tigress based on Niromi de Soyza’s memoir with Jane Hampson and a feature drama about Graeme Clark’s invention of the Bionic Ear.
Leanne produced Director Stephen Lance’s debut feature My Mistress - Cinematographer Geoffrey Simpson, Academy Award®-nominated editor Jill Bilcock, and Academy Award®-winning costume designer Angus Strathie Internationally acclaimed French actress Emmanuelle Béart (A Heart in Winter, Nathalie, Manon of the Spring, Mission: Impossible), rising international star AFI Award winning Harrison Gilbertson (Need for Speed, Haunt, Virginia, Accidents Happen, Beneath Hill 60, Conspiracy 365) and AFI Award-winning Rachael Blake (Sleeping Beauty, Lantana, Hawke) feature in this seductive and touching new film.
Leanne has recently established Sense and Centsability to continue developing engaging and emotional stories with a focus on content for female audiences worldwide.
